The Media Group for Security News on European Political Community Summit has been created

The Media Group for Security News (MGSN) on European Political Community (EPC) Summit 2023 has been created to provide citizens with data and recommendations of public interest as well as information on daily activities.

The Media Group will act as a press agency, on the ’one voice’ principle, and will inform the general public about the activities and measures undertaken by the national authorities in the context of the EPC Summit 2023 hosted by the Republic of Moldova.

The MGSN-EPC will keep in contact with media representatives and will provide relevant content via fast access channels (personal email, social networks, and webpages). It will also assist in the development of media content related to the organisation and running of the event. News and press releases will be issued both in Romanian and English.

The MGSN-EPC will liaise with all the central authorities, national institutions, local public authorities, and civil society to provide up-to-date information before and during the EPC Summit 2023.

To create the maximum convenience for citizens and to lower the interference in the daily life, the MGSN-EPC will disseminate in due time clarifications and recommendations from relevant institutions regarding the specific security and public order contexts created by this major international event. The public will be informed about the traffic regime on public roads in the capital and in the surrounding areas, access into the capital, traffic conditions, circulation of urban and interurban public transport, special rules for parking, situation at state border crossing points, air mobility, events organized in public space, etc.

The MGSN-EPC includes the communicators from the national public order, security and national defence institutions: Ministry of Internal Affairs with the General Police Inspectorate, Border Police, General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, General Inspectorate for Migration, General Inspectorate of Carabineers, MIA’s Academy ‘Stefan cel Mare’; State Protection and Guard Service; Security and Intelligence Service; Ministry of Defense; General Prosecutor's Office; Civil Aviation Authority; National Administration of Penitentiaries.

Journalists intending to broadcast the activities of the European Political Community Summit 2023 (EPC) must register and fill out an online accreditation application on the Ministry’s of Foreign Affairs and European Integration platform http://www.epcsummit2023.md/. Media accreditation is open from 27 April until 18 May 2023.

Before applying, please prepare:
· A scan of a valid Passport; its expiry date must exceed the date of the event you apply for by at least 90 days
· A scan of your recent photo
· A scanned letter of confirmation from your media organization and a scan of a Press ID

The decision to hold the Summit in the Republic of Moldova was taken at the EPC meeting in Prague in October 2022. Around 50 European Heads of State and Government and European Union officials are expected to attend the event on June 1st, to discuss the joint efforts for peace, defence of democracy, strengthening energy interconnection and global security.

The MGSN-EPC recommends everyone to get informed from official sources.
